Redis Explorer - Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Redis Explorer application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use this App.

2. Description of Service

Redis Explorer is a mobile application that allows you to:

• Connect to and manage multiple Redis database instances (standalone and cluster)
• Browse, create, read, update, and delete Redis keys
• Execute Redis commands directly through a CLI terminal
• Subscribe to and publish Redis pub/sub channel messages
• Save message templates for pub/sub operations
• Store connection configurations with encrypted credentials
• Monitor Redis server statistics and database metrics

Platform: Android (Google Play Store) Requirements: Android 11 (API level 30) or higher

2.1 Feature Tiers

Redis Explorer offers both free and premium features:

• Free Tier: Connection management (limited to 3 connections), key browsing and editing, CLI terminal, pub/sub messaging, and message templates
• PRO Tier: All free features plus unlimited connections, Redis cluster management, advanced monitoring, and backup/restore functionality

Cluster management and advanced monitoring features are available exclusively in the PRO subscription tier.

3. License and Usage

3.1 License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal or professional database administration purposes.

3.2 Restrictions

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to gain unauthorized access to Redis servers you don't own or have permission to access
• Attempt to bypass security features or encryption mechanisms
• Distribute or share the App in violation of applicable laws
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
• Use the App for illegal or harmful purposes

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Redis Explorer only for lawful purposes. You will NOT:

• Access Redis instances without proper authorization
• Execute malicious commands or attempts to compromise servers
• Use the App to interfere with or disrupt Redis services
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Violate intellectual property rights or any third party's rights

4.2 Redis Server Access

You are responsible for:

• Obtaining proper authorization to access Redis servers
• Complying with your organization's security policies
• Maintaining the security of your Redis server credentials
• Understanding and following your Redis server's access controls
• Backing up your data before making changes

4.3 Data Management

• Redis Explorer stores all data locally on your device
• You are responsible for backing up your connection configurations
• Uninstalling the App will delete all local data
• We recommend exporting critical connection information

4.4 SSH Tunnel Usage

If you use SSH tunnels:

• You are responsible for SSH server configuration and security
• Ensure you have authorization to use SSH tunnels
• Keep your SSH credentials secure
• Comply with your organization's security policies
• Follow your SSH server provider's terms of service

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 App Ownership

Redis Explorer is licensed to you, not sold. We retain all intellectual property rights to the App, including:

• Source code
• User interface design
• Features and functionality
• Documentation

5.2 Your Data Ownership

You retain ownership of:

• Your Redis data and databases
• Your connection configurations
• Your command history and templates
• Any output or results from Redis operations

5.3 Limitations

You may not:

• Copyright, trademark, or patent the App or its features
• Claim ownership of App functionality
• Create competing products based on the App

6. Third-Party Services

Redis Explorer requires connections to Redis servers, which are third-party services. You are responsible for:

• Complying with your Redis server provider's terms of service
• Understanding your Redis provider's security and privacy policies
• Obtaining proper licenses for commercial Redis usage
• Complying with Redis licensing terms

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

7.1 "AS IS" Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability

7.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• The App will work with all Redis versions
• Commands will execute as expected
• Your data will be preserved
• Features will remain unchanged

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Loss of data or database corruption
• Loss of profits or business opportunities
• Damage to your Redis databases
• Unauthorized access to your Redis servers
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App

7.4 You Assume All Risk

Your use of Redis Explorer and connection to Redis servers is entirely at your own risk. We recommend:

• Testing the App in a development environment first
• Backing up your Redis data regularly
• Maintaining proper security practices
• Keeping your devices and servers updated

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developers of Redis Explorer from any claims, damages, or costs arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your access to Redis servers without authorization
• Your violation of applicable laws
• Any data loss or corruption you experience

9. Termination

9.1 Your Right to Terminate

You may stop using Redis Explorer at any time by uninstalling the App.

9.2 Our Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

11. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding Redis Explorer. Any previous agreements or understandings are superseded by these Terms.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
