Overview
Bedtime Stories is an Android application for browsing, saving, and reading illustrated bedtime stories. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the app.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you use Bedtime Stories, we may collect:
- Google account information such as your name, email address, and profile image when you sign in
- Profile information such as reader profile names, audience selections, and related profile settings
- Waitlist information such as the display name you submit if access is pending
1.2 Information Created Through App Usage
To provide core functionality, we may store:
- Reading progress including current scene number and progress percentage
- Library activity including bookmarks, wishlist items, and reading history
- Reader preferences such as selected reader mode
1.3 Story Content and Metadata
The app also retrieves story-related content and metadata, such as titles, synopses, scenes, illustrations, age-group labels, genres, and series information, so stories can be displayed inside the app.
1.4 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect in the Android Client
The Android consumer app currently does not bundle a dedicated analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or crash-reporting SDK.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Authenticate your account
- Deliver personalized library and profile experiences
- Sync reading progress and saved state across sessions
- Show the correct active profile, preferences, bookmarks, wishlist, and reading history
- Provide access control features such as waitlist status and session management
- Operate, secure, and improve the Bedtime Stories service
3. How Information Is Stored
3.1 On Your Device
The Android app stores session-related data locally on your device to keep you signed in and maintain app state between launches.
3.2 On Our Backend
Because Bedtime Stories is an account-based experience, account details, profiles, reading progress, preferences, bookmarks, wishlist entries, and related library state may also be stored on our backend systems in order to provide sync and continuity across sessions.
4. Network Communication
The app connects to the Bedtime Stories service to:
- Sign you in with Google
- Validate and restore your session
- Fetch stories, series, and account data
- Update reading progress
- Save bookmarks, wishlist changes, profile actions, and reading preferences
Internet access is required for these synced features.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Google Sign-In
Bedtime Stories uses Google Sign-In for authentication. When you use Google Sign-In, Google may process information according to its own privacy terms and policies.
5.2 Google Play and Platform Services
If you install the app through Google Play or use Android platform features, those services may collect information under their own policies.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed to:
- Operate the Bedtime Stories service
- Authenticate users through Google Sign-In
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect the security, rights, and integrity of the service or its users
7. Data Retention
We retain account and app-related information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Local data stored on your device may remain until you sign out, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
8. Children's Privacy
Bedtime Stories is designed for family reading, but account creation and service access are intended to be managed by a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult.
If you believe personal information relating to a child has been provided to us inappropriately, contact us so we can review and address the request.
9. Your Choices
Depending on how you use the service, you may be able to:
- Stop using the app at any time
- Remove local app data by clearing storage or uninstalling the app
- Control the Google account you use to sign in
- Request assistance regarding profile or account-related concerns by contacting us
10. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect account and service data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last Updated" date when changes take effect.
